Interdisciplinary Team Care is the “official” medical terminology for the treatment we provide. That means several people work together to restore lost abilities. Each person on the Team is a “discipline”.
Physiatrist - the MD who provides daily medical supervision of each patient and the treatment team.
Rehabilitation Nursing – 24/7 care including medication management, pain management, and daily assessment of physical condition.
Physical Therapy - specialized in the improvement of mobility and balance, including the ability to transfer between bed or chair, and bath or toilet.
Occupational Therapy - focused on the Activities of Daily Living most of us take for granted until we can no longer perform them. Such activities include: getting dressed, eating, bathing and grooming.
Speech Therapy – treats communication problems, swallowing dysfunction, problem solving, and cognitive skill re-building.
Medical Social Worker – helps solve the social needs of the patient and family during a course of treatment and after discharge.
